Item Description:
This is a stunning set that was a salesman's sample from the Napier line Ca. 1960. It consists of a pin and earrings in the shape of delicate feathers in a graceful S-curve design. The metal is so lightweight and beautifully plated that it would be difficult to tell that these are not truly precious metal. The pin measures a generous 3" X 1" and has a safety closure. "Napier" in block letters is incised into the metal on the reverse of the spine of the feather. There is tremendous artistic style and great movement in the design of the pin where the textured feather projections are somewhat moveable and three-dimensional to make for a very realistic image. The earrings are quite comfortable and extremely lightweight, measuring approximately 1-1/2" X 1". They are signed, "Napier" in tiny block letters underneath the clip. This is a classically beautiful modern design that represents the best and most characteristic of Napier's fine modern designs in vintage costume jewelry.
