Famous Amos N' Andy Fresh Air Taxi cab by Marx Toys in the 1930's. This is a tin litho wind-up toy which is in very good shape considering it is 70 plus years old.
This car/cab is in very good condition and if it is meticulously cleaned it will be outstanding. No rust and almost all the paint is intact. It winds up, but when you push the floor gear forward it doesn't seem to want to go -- I know a toy collector will be able to fix this. Also, two of the wheels could use a keeper or a clip to keep them from rolling off, although in a stationary position they are fine. The running boards and fenders have a little black paint off, but what looks like rust in the photo is just missing black paint.
We wiped this cab down a little but didn't try to do a thorough cleaning as we will leave that to the new owner.
Note the "Check And Double Check" lettering as well as the "License Applied For Time After Time."
With a little effort this Amos N' Andy Taxicab could be brought back to excellent condition.
