Very nice framed original oil painting on canvas is by well known Sacramento artist Paul William Millar (1915-1983)
This oil is titled "High Meadow" and is of a meadow, a slight ridge and and some hills and mountains in the backgroud. Most likely Northern California.
Nice color and the oil is in excellent condition.
About the artist: Paul William Millar (1915-1983). Born in Oakland, CA on Aug. 20, 1915.
Millar studied at California School of Fine Arts and was active in Alaska in the late 1930s where he was influenced by Sydney Laurence.
After serving in the Navy during WWII, he moved to Sacramento and established a commercial art-advertising agency.
He taught painting and juried local shows until his demise there on Aug. 5, 1983. His paintings are mostly landscapes of northern California.
