Item Description:
Out of a village in the middle of the Karroo Desert, Carlos Garcez is fast emerging as the premier artist in South Africa for his splendid ostrich egg designs. Only unfertilized eggs are used for decorating. Once cleaned and polished, each egg is hand-painted according to the shades required for the final design. The final design is applied using a meticulous decoupage technique and sealed with several layers of varnish. Each single egg decoration takes more than 10 hours to complete. The fabulous designs of Carlos Garcez are sought after by top boutiques, fine hotels and collectors in South Africa, Europe, and now, the U.S. stand sold separately
