Rather rare OXO Dodo Design Cube Hand Painted Enamel Plate as advertising hanger sign or to use as a hot plate. "A Meal in a Moment -- One Cube to a Cup". Very good condition with chip small chip on three corners and over top nail hole. Balance of enamel is in excellent condition Concentrated meat extract was invented by JUSTIN LIEBIG in 1840 and sold commercially from 1866. Initially the product was a liquid and a less expensive version was produced in 1899 and sold under the trademark OXO. Since that time the product has been sold in many types of packaging the most common being the OXO Tin. The product has always been strongly marketed as evidenced by this piece. Great item for the advertising or sign collector. |
