Super size pot metal brooch with gold wash in retro style with deep bermuda blue acrylic rhinestones. Good condition except the edges of the top facets on a couple of the stones are worn. You could leave as is for a vintage look or replace the stones with your favorite color ! Nice quality. Retro jewelry refers to the mid 1930's through the end of the 1940's. A Depression loomed and a war was on the horizon. Jewelry reflected the early days of Hollywood as well as the necessity for restriction in the use of metals due to the war. Most retro jewelry was goldtone, plated or vermeil over sterling. Popular was the "rose gold" look. Most pieces were large "star power" pieces featuring large stones with a sleeker shape and design.
