Another of our absolutely fabulous Cyrus Noble North American Wild Animal Porcelain Decanters -- this is "The Moose Cow and Calf" (Alces Americanus).
One of the most impressive sights of the backwoods is a huge dark moose grazing peacefully in a quiet mountain valley. The moose is the largest deer in the world: some stand over seven feet tall and weigh almost three-quarters of a ton. Moose look somewhat ungainly, but the appearance is deceiving. They can run swiftly. Moose are usually shy, but are fierce fighters when cornered or angered; and have been known to fight off grizzly bears.
This decanter is the third in a series of six bottles. Cyrus Noble Originals have been produced from original sculptures by a skilled artist-naturalists.
The bottle rests on a hand-routed teak bases, felt-padded to protect furniture; an embossed brass plateis mounted on the base. The bottle is empty, but once contained Cyrus Noble Bourbon. We have the box and Stryroform liner. Box has some stains from leakage, but is intact.
The decanter is in like new condition.
This decanter was produced in 1976 and is Limited Edition number 849 of 1800
