Vintage Rhinestone Duet Brooch

This is a duet pin. So called because it could perform double duty as an accessory. The mechanism allowed the end pieces to be removed and used as clips or converted back to be worn as a brooch. Several companies used these mechanisms, each one a little different and usually patented. This one is signed only with the patent number 2044225. The base is silvertone metal and the rhinestones are crystal. The center stones are pave set while the edge is entirely made up of baguettes. Some of the stones have darkened with age, but the sparkle is still there. I have not taken this apart or tried to clean in any way.
