Rare Victorian Spider and Web Ornament

This spectacular rare item is from an estate. I believe it is a hair ornament**, however the 80 year-old original owner said her grandmother wore it in her hat !  It is a silver spider and spun web in silver. I was unable to determine if it is sterling, but it is at least 800 silver. Web measures 2-3/4" with delicate silver woven web and very realistic "web maker"........ There are 4 prongs on the underside which would be used to anchor it either in the hair or as other ornamentation. This is not a brooch and there is no pin back present although I am sure one could be adapted to that purpose if the buyer desires. It comes in the original jewelers box from the estate. The item is in excellent condition as were all of the items from this estate. ** Another possibility on this item - I was told it is a place card holder using the clip at the back to hold a name card ! Very unique and apparently versatile.
