Item Description: |
Lovely, possibly late 18th century, embroidered pocketbook. Design is floral, multi-colored and some silver-gilt thread on pale green silk. Opens to two inner pockets and more embroidery. Found south of Paris with letter written at Versailles dated 1898, also note on mourning stationary and lock of hair. Note indicates hair belonged to Madame de Martineng. Some fading of silk and wear noted on corner folds. A beautiful example of historic needlework. Free domestic shipping. |
