Even the Wall Street Journal attests to the collectibility and value of vintage Miriam Haskell simulated baroque pearls! Cathy Gordon, co-author of the definitive new book, "Miriam Haskell Jewelry" wrote us to say that "The Haskell nailhead pearls are not used often, and you have a lovely example of them...nailhead pearls were specially manufactured for Haskell by the Niki Company, which exclusively made pearls for Haskell starting in late 1958." (Sheila Pamfiloff is co-author of this very informative book.) This necklace consists of seven pristine strands of very rare "nailhead" flattened on one side and rounded on the other, baroque Miriam Haskell pearls alternating with two smaller pearls. The larger nailhead pearls are approximatey 8MM. The pearls are caught in groups of three and four strands, respectively, into two sets of Russian goldtone filigree bead cones. The bead cones are then connected to Russian goldtone filigree medallions wired with faux pearl florets that end each side. The medallions are connected to an extension chain of baroque pearls on the other. The necklace is adjustable to approximately 16-3/8". It is signed "Miriam Haskell" on an oval signature plaque on the reverse of the necklace medallion on the graduated baroque pearl extension chain side. There is also a block signature on the fish hook. In Excellent Condition. Please refer to the close-up of the signature for a better idea of the color and condition of the findings.
