Item Description:
From an estate, this is a vintage 16" single strand necklace of oval "millefiori" art glass beads. Each bead measures about 1/2" long and each is filigree capped with a barrel clasp at the back. These are beautiful old beads and can be worn as is or redesigned. They seem pretty sturdy, each being knotted inbetween. Millefiori is Italian for "1000 flowers" and each bead is made using slices of multicolored glass "canes" for the colorful designs - many times at the end of the day using leftover glass rods.
