Great detail and color on this Ulysses S. Grant (1822-1885) porcelain decanter by McCormick Distilling.
Note the depth of the color in his uniform, the coffee cup (or whatever), the coffee pot, hat and of course the chair Ulysses is sitting in.
A decorated general from the Mexican War, who resigned his commission shortly thereafter, but volunteered again when the Civil War broke out, and of course later became a well known general with his wins for the Union and later appointed Commanding General by Lincoln.
After the war he retired again, but traveled the world extensively and was well received and honored in these travels.
Decanter is in excellent condition, with the foam liner and box, including biography on the side -- without the bourbon.
