Victorian Rosewood Burl Queen Size Bed (and this in not a misprint). Obviously, this was a custom bed back in the 1800's that today holds a queen size box springs and mattress, whereas in the past I am sure it was a large feather bed. (Did Abe Lincoln sleep in it? ---- he could have ;-).
Original finish which we oiled to keep wood from drying out and add moisture. Nice heavy wood rails. Four turned posts and small crown. Nice burl grain.
As far as we can determine I.Himmb was a furniture manufacture in and around the Philadephia from 1860 till about 1880.
This bed came from an estate in Sacramento where it was located for 50 years, and before that from San Francisco.
