A beautiful white enamel on sterling silver "Marguerite" brooch designed and made in Norway. This is 2" in diameter and in very good condition. The enamelwork is fabulous. This is signed on the back Norway, 925 S and also has a designer mark that I have not been able to find. Possibly David Andersen but not the usual mark. The story of "Marguerite" (french for daisy) is that King Louis IX of France gave his bride Marguerite of Provence a special ring that was decorated with daisies and lillies (symbolizing the fleur de lis). Inscribed inside was the motto "This ring contains all I love". Therefore, the continued romance of the Marguerite "Daisy". Most of our items are vintage unless we tell you otherwise. Therefore expect them to be in "Vintage" condition. We do not thoroughly clean our vintage jewelry, leaving that to the preferences of the buyer, but if there are any serious problems, flaws or noticeable repairs, we will note it in the description.
