An unusual brooch from an estate features a marked 925 sterling openwork triangular brooch with what appears to be a tree motif and focus amethyst oval cabochon. Besides the 925 mark there is a tiny hallmark that I just cannot read. A beautiful stone ! Amethyst is the birthstone for February - Aquarius (Water Bearer) Jan. 20 - Feb. 18 and is said to produce a calm and restful sleep if placed under a pillow at night.
