Taxco, Mexican sterling silver earrings by A. Munoz are a beautifully crafted, graceful design by a recognized and documented silversmith from Taxco. These beautiful earrings measure approximately 1-3/8 x 11/16" with sturdy ear screws. The mark on the earrings is underneath each ear screw so we were unable to photograph the signature, but they say, "A. MUNOZ TAXCO MEXICO" in a circle around ".925" for sterling silver. There is no eagle mark on the earrings that, according to Bille Hougart, is common when there is not an appropriate place on the piece. Or, these lovely earrings may date earlier than the 1948 time period prior to the inception of the mark. Due to the significant weight of 10.9 grams of the earrings and the fact that they have ear screws, taking into consideration the collector's estate they came from, it is possible that these date prior to 1948 and we think they do. They are in Excellent Condition and arrived with a similarly designed bracelet by J. Flores that also is quite weighty and well crafted that lends credence to the possibility that both J. Flores and A. Munoz were working at the same time, probably in the early 1940s. These outstanding Taxco sterling silver earrings by A. Munoz are a wonderful find for a discriminating collector of vintage Mexican designer sterling silver. Price includes domestic shipping. (#40368-A.MunozTaxcoSterlingEarringsVintageMexicanSilver)
