What a special and pristine vintage Weiss set! It is pictured on Page 152 of "Rhinestones!" by Nancy Schiffer. Arguably one of the finest sets by Weiss we have seen, this must really be seen "in the flesh" for a true appreciation of its attention to detail, design, materials and workmanship. The pin is constructed atop a hollow filigree rod two inches round upon which are two layers. The center is a clustered melange of a ruby red cabochon and fuschia, Capri Blue and emerald-colored faceted round rhinestones, all prong-set, in varying sizes set atop a perimeter of textured and openwork antiqued gold tone spiraling loops banded with sapphire blue elongated navettes alternating with tiny emerald-colored faceted roundstones. The entire confection is finished with an outer rim of Capri Blue round rhinestones. The pin has a safety closure and has the Weiss oval signature plaque on the reverse. The matching earrings measure approximately 1-1/8 x 1-1/2 and add ruby navettes to the mix. The Weiss signature is impressed into each clip. Dating Ca. 1950s to 60s, and in very pristine Excellent and all original condition, this is quite an impressive and very regal set! (#16415-J467-Weiss MultiColorRhinestonePinEarring)
