Antique Valentine with the most beautiful and pristine paper lace with a cross motif and three applied die cuts on a gorgeous embossed paper with gold measures approximately 6-1/4 x 4-1/2". The die-cut at the top of the cross features a torch and roses and says "Love Burns". The center die-cut features a young lady in a white dress with flowers and the bottom die-cut is of a rose, forget-me-nots and foliage and reads, "My Own Dear Love". The inside verse is beautifully printed and illustrated and reads: "All Joys Be Thine!/MAY LOVE and Hope stand at your side./Contentment shake you by the hand/Joy be to you a friend and guide/Your steps along life a golden strand/May you have the sweetest gifts of earth./Days of true happiness and health;//Each hour contain a full share of mirth./Each minute adding to your wealth!" In Excellent Condition with one slight crease at the bottom center and the top right corner edge of the inside. There is a bit of shading from two glue spots on the verse page of the Valentine which is more pronounced in our picture than in person. Signed on the reverse: "From Hazel Ludolph" "Feb 14 1900" in pencil. There is a number 3 in ink and some very slight age discoloration to the paper around the top and left edges of the back. Simply wonderful IMHO!
