Rare Symmetalic Vintage Scarab Necklace features quality semiprecious carved scarabs in sterling silver vermeil (sterling silver with 14K gold plating). This stunning necklace features five large semiprecious scarabs in carnelian, tiger eye, blue and green chrysophrase and bloodstone with carving on both front and back. The largest center carnelian scarab measures a whopping 1 x 3/4". The necklace is adjustable to 16-1/2" with a fish hook closure and extender chain. The necklace is in Very Good/Excellent Condition with wear to the gold plating only on the underside of the necklace. Otherwise, it is in Excellent Condition. It is signed, "Symmetalic Sterling + 1/20 14K on a rectangular signature plaque on the reverse of the necklace. Symmetalic was the registered trademark of the W. E. Richards Company, fonded in the early 1900's in Attleboro, Massachusetts. The Symmetalic trademark was first used in 1936. Most Symmetalic jewelry is made of sterling silver although many items were plated with 14K gold known as vermeil. The company was known to use top quality stones in its jewelry.
