Vinegar Valentine is a vintage Valentine entitled, "A Lemon" that is simply a piece of hilarious nostalgia from the 1920s era. This attractively illustrated Vinegar Valentine features a detailed woman with a walking stick, spats, a checkered suit, tie and shirt with a heart on her trench coat and a large green hat with feather and bow and a lemon wrapped in a blue ribbon with a blank gift tag attached. Above the head of the woman are the words, "To My Valentine" in blue stylized lettering. The colors and illustration are especially crisp and vibrant. The verse reads, "A Lemon/You need not fear/a lemon dear,/You dress so loud and look so queer,/No one would waste/the grocery stuff,/For you're "A Lemon"/sure enough." The Valentine measures approximately 8-7/8 x 7" and is in Very Good/Excellent Condition for its age with two minor 1/4" tears at the sides and two folds that have been flattened over the years while the Valentine was stored in a book. It is signed, "Jennie Link" in ink that appears to be from a fountain pen. You are certain to get a chuckle and perhaps a pucker as well :) when you offer this up to the right person this Valentine's Day! (#43700-VinegarValentineLemon)
