Diana or Artemis Edwardian 10K cameo depicts the Greek goddess of the hunt, wilderness and wild animals with a beautiful crescent moon in her hair. . Diana was considered the goddess of children, and the protectress of young girls. Her Roman name is Diana and her symbols included the crescent of the moon. This beautiful Diana cameo pin pendant measures approximately 1-3/8 x 1" and has a safety closure as well as a generous bail that folds down to hide it when the cameo is worn as a brooch. The bezel is marked, "10K" and we tested it as 10K as well. The total weight is 5.3 grams. In Excellent/Near Mint Condition, and remarkably about 100 years old, dating Ca. 1910, this beauty is hand carved with the early aquiline Roman nose that dates to the Victorian era, this lovely Diana cameo will be a prized heirloom to wear and pass along for generations.
