Victorian garter bracelet in rich gold mesh has a seed pearl appointed and engraved slide. The slide is decorated with raised arcs of metal from each corner of the top of the slide to the central seed pearl and has embossed fans on each side of the box slide. The bracelet opens to approximately 2-1/2" and adjusts by pulling the tail end through it. In addition there is a belt strap to secure the free end and ghe bracelet is completed with a lovely embossed decorative end. The slide measures approximately 3/4" wide and the bracelet itself is about 5/16" wide. The bracelet is in lovely condition and was apparently so convincing that it was tested on the underside of the slide back leaving it slightly scarred, so we are calling the condition Very Good although it is in Excellent Condition otherwise. Dating Ca. 1900, this beautiful garter bracelet is unsigned and unmarked. Unwilling to do any further harm to the bracelet by any further metal testing, we are selling it as gold plated with the underside of the tip of the bracelet plated only on the front as they often were. Lightweight and comfortable, this is a wonderful and very well preserved example that Victorian lovers and collectors will appreciate. (#45830- GarterBrc)
