Juliana DeLizza & Elster D&E jet black and clear rhinestone necklace is vintage jewelry drama at its best. Unusual, chunky jet black lozenge shaped rhinestones contrast beautifully to give an Art Deco flavor to this wonderful necklace. Documented and verified, this Juliana/DeLizza & Elster, D&E necklace is, as is all of this jewelry, unsigned, but well known and coveted by dealers and collectors, alike. It is adjustable to approximately 15-1/2" with a rhinestone-appointed fish hook closure. The central width of the necklace is approximately 2-1/4" and the second row of rhinestones across the decorated span of the necklace is approximately 8-3/4". The rhinestones are all prong-set and the necklace is in Very Good Condition. There is one spot on the necklace where one of the lozenge-shaped rhinestones (second on the bottom row to the right of the center) is soldered onto one round rhinestone and the opposite side has the stone soldered onto two round rhinestones along its edge. This was apparently a hand-soldered, manufacturing difference as there is no evidence of solder on the second stone and this does not affect the manner in which the necklace lays. We mention this simply for complete disclosure although we do not think it is actually worth mentioning as so much hand soldering was imprecise. Differences like these are testament to the individual hand work of the manufacturing process of vintage costume jewelry. This is a wonderful and perhaps more rare vintage Juliana necklace with very special vintage, lozenge-shaped rhinestones which we don't often see.
