Fan pin / brooch of multicolor rhinestones in fancy shapes in sterling silver. This is a pin I have owned for about 35 years and often admired, but never wore it. It was an early acquisition in my vintage collection because its colors are a rainbow of vibrant and highly saturated shades of red, purple, emerald green, golden citrine color, pink and mid-tone blue. The red rhinestones are unusual diamond shapes, the amethyst are ovals and golden citrine color are elongated ovals. The two emerald green color are a large navette and round rhinestone. The pink are emerald cuts and the blue are elongated ovals. The rhinestones appear to be old, hand-cut, crystal rhinestones, probably Czech, and they are all prong-set in sterling silver. The pin measures approximately 2-3/8 x 2" and has a safety closure. The pin is in Excellent to Very Good Condition because there is some age to the backs of the amethyst color rhinestones as shown in the picture. The pin has not been polished in the entire time I have owned it. Vintage collectors will appreciate the different cuts and especially the diamond-shaped red rhinestones because they are no longer made. Contemporary takes on this design would have substituted less expensive round rhinestones on a pin like this. I have never seen another. One of the nicest things about vintage jewelry is that you can rest assured you will be the only lucky person to wear a beauty like this. (#45061-FanPin)
