Eisenberg enamel butterfly pendant necklace features a gorgeous butterfly pendant in shades of green with a bright gold tone body and accents on the upper pair of wings I have had the good fortune to know Karl Eisenberg and have had the pleasure of a number of conversations with him about Eisenberg jewelry. Karl's wife was an artist and I believe it was this enamel series that was the work he was most proud of. The Artist Series, adapting designs in enamel after iconic modern artists like, Miro, Braque, Van Gogh. Picasso... was exhibited at the Contemporary Museum of Art in Chicago and it is my personal opinion that the enamels will become recognized as iconic for the third generation of Eisenberg designs.
The pendant measures approximately 2-1/8 x 1-7/8 and comes on its own original, thick, gold tone snake chain measuring 2-1/2" with a spring ring closure. Dating from the 1970s, the necklace is in Excellent Condition. It is signed, "EISENBERG' in block letters with a copyright symbol raised from the mold on the reverse of the pendant.
The Eisenberg enamels from the 1970s will continue to be appreciated and worn with pride by collectors who love art and jewelry. They lend themselves to today's fashions so well that they were certainly ahead of their time.(#45974-EisenbergButterfly)
