Original by Robert powder compact is a wonderful and rare example. Accessories by major vintage jewelry designers have been found and documented for Eisenberg, Florenza, Napier and Dior, but signed compacts by Original by Robert are so scarce that many seasoned collectors may not even know they exist. An Original by Robert compact with lighter just sold at Ebay for $249.

Original by Robert was produced by Robert Levy of The Fashioncraft Jewelry Company of New York (1942 - 1979). HIs work is renowned among costume jewelry collectors. This compact has Light Colorado Topaz colored, bi cone crystals wired to the cover with clear rhinestone rose montee centers decorating the entire top of the compact. This work, so labor intense and in the style of Miriam Haskell, is one of the many reasons that collectors seek examples of vintage Original by Robert jewelry.

The compact measures approximately 2 x 2 x 5/8" and contains the original powder and puff.

CONDITION - IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE: We offer the compact in original, as found, condition. As shown in our pics, there are verdigris spots on the top of the inside, hinged cover. It is as if someone had left splashed drops of water that dried inside the compact. We have not touched it. As a display piece and rare example, the top of the compact is in Excellent Condition. The outside of the case is Excellent although the bottom has some scuffs and evidence of wear/use is Very Good. The puff is signed, "Original by Robert" and has been used. The mirror is in Excellent Condition.
