Ultra rare 1930s Art Deco Necessaire Vanity Case Dance Purse Handbag is completely outfitted for a lady's evening adventures. We have never seen another like it and were unable to find anything through professional research tools and consultations with other dealers about this unusual necessaire.

In a flamingo pink plastic case decorated in metallic silver tracery and rhinestones, there is a raised rhinestone button glued into the front as a decoration. We have had this for a number of years and it arrived with the button and evidence of glue surrounding the button on the front. There is a well on the inside, perhaps to hold a key, coins and some mad money secured with a brass hinged cover. There is a lever for the cover, but the hinge doesn't close over the cover. It does close securely with a snap.

On the other side, there is an original powder puff with traces of powder. The puff has the remnants of a bow on top and there are two indentations perhaps for another vial of perfume or an eyebrow pencil to outline pencil-thin eyebrows and accent the look with a luscious beauty mark. The case trails a lush tassel with a pink covered container that fits a small glass perfume vial hidden within it.

The case measures approximately 4 x 2-1/4 x 7/8" when closed. The bottom tassel is approximately 6" and the handle drop is also about six inches.

This very special necessaire has not been a wallflower. There are many small nibbles and chips along the straight edges. Most notably, there is a one inch long area along the top left of the front of the case that is scuffed on the angle of the edge. There is similar area on the bottom of about 7.8". There is also a chip 3/16 x 1/8" on the bottom back above the center tassel.

This is an opportunity to own a spectacularly rare example of Art Deco femininity in the form of this vintage plastic necessaire, fitted dance bag. An heirloom treasure, another generation will be happy to love and carry it for another whirl around the dance floor. It has certainly not seen its last dance.
