Antique Victorian 10K Gold Carnelian Intaglio Necklace and Earrings Set features the Classical profiles of Mercury (Hermes) and Minerva. The two earrings feature profiles of Mercury with his winged helmet, each facing one another. The pendant appears to be Minera.

The intaglios are approximately 7/8 x 7/8" and are expertly set in bezels with decorative twisted frames. The carving is very well done. It is in two stages. First, there is a concave circle carved into the stone, and then the subject is carved below that. Very impressive.

The earrings are screw type and marked, "10K." They measure 1-1/4 x 7/8". The ear screw findings are decorated with flowers with six petals and the length of the dangle drop is 1" from the top. The pendant bail is marked, "10K".

The set weighs 10.2 grams.

The double chain features two simulated pearls at the center within which the bail of the pendant can center. The chain is marked, "1/20 12KT" and the pendant can be removed from the chain. It measures 19-1/4".

The set is in Excellent Condtion and dates to the turn of the Turn of the 20th Century.
