The deep, rich color of this bakelite is hard to describe or capture in a photograph. It is a grapey wine color and I think closest to the deep red of ripe Bing cherries--what a saavy and clever fashion neutral! As for the carving, it is to-die-for: deep and sensuously cut and polished curves in shrimp fashion across the top and bottom with stylized S-curves across the center. Gorgeous floral chasing on two brass curved rods remind me of an ornate Victorian wedding band. The finely carved dome earrings have the decorative brass strip down the centers and measure 3/4" round. They are screw-backs. The bracelet is quite a "hunk" of bakelite measuring 1/2" thick on the top half. It has a hinged "clamper" type closure that is solid and strong. The inner dimension of the closed bracelet is 2-1/4" X 1-3/4". This is a very special set IMHO having come directly out of the drawer of a lady who is no longer in need of it.
