Vintage Valentine by Whitney Made features three layers on accordians for a three-dimensional effect with a central medallion of a young boy and girl in 1920's style fashions driving in an automobile. The background is a period stylized Art Deco design with angular frames of French blue around a yellow background with red hearts and pink and lavender flowers and green leaves - all outlined in metallic gold. The second layer which contains the central medallion in a heart features a quilt motif with hearts predominating and blue whipstitching forming a border with gold metallic accents and hearts. The top layer features very delicate paper lace overlaid with cut outs of a pansie and a heart that reads, "To My Love". It measures approximately 8 x 6". The inside verse amid a scene of a pier with a little boy helping a little girl says, "To My Valentine/If I had a little boat,/I will some day I guess,/Would you sail away with me?/Oh, Valentine! say yes." In Very Good Condition, there is some crinkling and slight curling along the edges and very slight bends on the bottom of the reverse on the tips of the points. The reverse is signed in faded ink: "To Bertha from her sister Alice, Feb. 14, 1924." The reverse is marked, "Whitney Made Worcester Mass Made in USA".
