Vintage Elgin American Powder Compact is enameled in a very Asian Art Deco aquatic design that is uniquely beautiful. The design is a striking, stylized, period design that we find so evocative of the Jazz Age and Art Deco era, it is almost iconic.

The compact measures approximately

The Elgin American Company operated from 1919 to 1963. They made quality products that were sold in many fine stores.

It retains its original puff and the mirror is very bright. We have not washed the puff and it has a discolored section that shows evidence of use. The back shows evidence of wear. The front enamel work is in Excellent Condition. Both the inner metal cover and the puff are signed, "Elgin American."

We will send this to you in the original box that we received it in as shown in our pictures. The box is robins egg blue, but has no identification on it. The design of this compact is so stunning, it may very well have been a gift from a status jeweler.

This is an unusual design amongst Elgin American compacts and we think it is a very special Art Deco compact collectible by Elgin American. Collectors will be pleased.
