Item Description:
Magnificent 1940s flower pin in gold over sterling silver features a large central flower beautifully prong-set with a large central oval cabochon in ruby red. There is a smaller flower with a faceted deep blue rhinestone center and a bud and leaves of an open-backed faceted green oval stone as well as three prong-set, open-backed navette shaped rhinestones, respectively. This quality piece of vintage costume jewelry dating from the 1940s measures a whopping 3-7/8 x 2-1/4" and has a safety closure. It is marked "Sterling" stamped into the reverse of the pin. The pin and plating are in Excellent Condition with some extremely slight thinning and some tarnish as might be expected for a piece of this age although this is such a sensational pin, we feel that this patina of age merely enhances the vintage beauty of the piece.
