Brooch: Vintage Rhinestone Flower Brooch Pin

This beautiful vintage flower has petals of old hand-cut, open backed golden-citrine-colored rhinestones in pear shapes surrounding a huge central Aurora Borealis round rhinestone. The stem is a row of topaz-colored rhinestones with another pear-shaped golden-citrine-colored rhinestone "leaf" and a round Aurora Borealis clear stone "dewdrop". All of the stones in this pin are prong-set. Although unsigned, pins in this style were made by both Weiss and Schreiner and this is certainly up to their levels of quality. The pin measures approximately 3-3/4 x 1-1/2" and has a safety closure. The pin is in Excellent Condition although it has a tiny bit of excess solder which has been plated at the bottom left of the stem. We do not believe that there was any other stone originally here since examination under magnification does not reveal any unplated spot where a piece might have broken off. So, it is our opinion that this was just a slight manufacturing defect when the pin was originally created. The stones in this pin are absolutely gorgeous with the light coming through the depth of its thick crystal rhinestone petals. You will find so many occasions to wear this beauty because the color is so striking and versatile to set off so many different outfits.
