For today’s auction, we are featuring a unique Mason 32nd Degree 14K Gold Ring.
This ring is a Size 9.75 to just a hair under Size 10. The ring has a series of symbols spaced around the exterior of the ring. The symbols that I can identify are an eagle, a Germanic cross, a red cross, a 3 sided triangle, the Masonic symbol and one Masonic square and a measuring compass.
The interior of the ring has the following phrase engraved on it: “Virtus Junxit Mors Non Separabit" which translates from Latin to mean: "Whom virtue unites , death will not separate". The is also inscribed with the name Vicklois (perhaps the owner's name).
According to our research, the circular shape of the ring symbolizes unending commitment and loyalty, just as it does in marriage. This ring is usually given to Mason to the recipient upon completion of (as in this case) the achievement of the 32nd degree ritual.
