Vintage Whitney Made Valentine is overlaid with paper lace and cut-outs. The central medallion features a young girl in a bonnet and the words, "To My Valentine." The base Valentine has daisies and pink and blue flowers and green foliage with stylized gold designs and red hearts. The paper lace is appointed with cut-outs of a heart that reads, "To My Valentine", a cherub behind the wheel of a vintage car, a young boy with a puffy vintage hat and a heart with winged cherub that reads, "Yours Truly." The inside illustrated verse reads, "Valentines have always been/Such nice things to send/When you want to tell your thoughts/To some special friend-/that I confess./Now the thoughts I'll let you guess." There are pictures of a winged cherub in 1920s kewpie doll style and floral decoration. This lovely The Valentine is large and measures approximately 7 x 6-7/8". It is in Very Good/Excellent Condition with a pristine face that has only one slight crease at the bottom right point. There is some aged glue that was used to apply the cut-outs that has bled through to the underlying pages, various creases to the corners evident on the back of the Valentine and a small scrape to the top valentine cut-out as well as what appears to be an original repaired tear to the left cut-out of the boy in the hat. The Valentine is signed "Whitney Made, Worcester Mass." on the reverse and hand signed in pen "To Alice Prince from her sister Bertha Prince Feb. 14, 1921." A really lovely example of a large, 1920s Vintage Whitney Made Valentine.
